Composite epoxy resin insulators have the following advantages
Compared with traditional porcelain high voltage standoff insulators and glass high voltage epoxy, composite epoxy resin insulator has the following advantages:
(1) High strength and light weight. The strength-to-weight ratio of composite high voltage epoxy resin is very high, that is, the specific strength is very high. Its high mechanical strength comes from the excellent mechanical properties of the glass fiber reinforced plastic core rod. The tensile strength of the currently widely used glass fiber reinforced plastic pull rod can reach more than 1000MPa, while the core rod density is only about 2g/cm3. Therefore, its specific strength is very high, about 5 to 10 times that of high-quality carbon steel. At the same voltage level, the weight of composite high voltage standoff is only 1/7 to 1/10 of that of porcelain insulators.
